Please pray!

I'll just make a long story short for ya... maybe I'll share the long version some other time... but I wanted to ask everyone who reads this to pray for our little Payton. She has been fussy and not feeling well for the past 3 days or so and last night had a fever of 102 and struggling to breath. Took her in first thing this morning and it turns out that she has a bad UTI. We were admitted to the hospital and will be here for 3 days! It is to dangerous to be at home with her high fever and her only being 3 months old.

I think that the worst part is outta the way between being stuck 3 times with an IV... to having the IV nearly ripped outta her arm and then having to find a new spot for a new IV... and having x-rays and ultrasounds and tests for this and that. They are all very nice, sweet people and are treating us very nicely.. but the momma in me wants to rip the iv outta her arm and stick myself with it 3 times... and to have a catheter put in and taken out several times and to take her pain and her fever away Im so ready for all this to all be over and for her to be happy and smiling again! I am so thankful that I have 2 healthy kids and that we have never had a hospital stay before now.

So if you would keep her in your prayers we would greatly appreciate it... and us of course, I think that is probably harder for us as parents to have to watch from a distance as they poke and prod our baby and you cant doin nothin about it! She is sleeping peacefully now and probably will for awhile... this is the first nap that she has gotten since I woke her up this mornin.

Never say never

If there is one thing (well there are LOTS of things) that I have learned since having my own kids its NEVER SAY NEVER!!! Cuz more than likely you will! I always said my child would NEVER be the crazy one screaming in the middle of wal mart... been there, done that. I always said my child would NEVER be "late" at doing stuff... (little did I know.) I always said I would NEVER be that mom with that kid...see previous post... and I also said that I would NEVER have a short "mom" hair cut. Guess what I did today?? chopped off my hair and I have a short "mom" haircut.

My mom texted me and told me she was gonna come watch the girls today so I could go out for a bit... Little did she know that she may have saved her granddaughters lives. (Im only kidding.) So I decided that I was gonna do something refreshing for myself. Lets see... that leaves: nails, feet, and hair. I chose a much needed hair cut. Now lemme tell you about myself, first off, a hair cut makes me so very nervous, my hands get clammy, my tummy turnes with nerves... its a big deal (I know, I know, its hair and it does grow back... but its just so sloooooooooooooow) and secondly, I have had the same hair for pretty much forever and EVERY time I go to get a hair cut I tell myself.. ok self, this time were gonna do something different ok??? and I have that planned in my head... until I get there and this comes outta my mouth "can I just get a trim please"?? So I did my before hair cut ritual... look online for NEW hair style, find nothing. Decide im just gonna get the same thing but maybe an extra inch cut off... but this time, I actually did something different. I really just wanted something easier! (did I just say that... I must be a mom now.) Anyways... I LOVE it It is so short compared to what I am used to. When I was done, I walked outside and shrugged my shoulders up cuz it was cold on my neck.

I know this isn't a good before and after cuz in one picture my hair is curly... but its pretty much the only picture I could find recently that I am in.

I like it. Its something new and different and I think thats just what I needed!

and check this out.... my baby is getting soooo big! I cant believe how much she has grown in 3 short months. Compared to Madelynn at that age, she is huge! Its so weird how different they are! I guess we got one that will be skinny and on the smaller side like Nat.. and one that is big boned and thick like me. (I know, Isn't that such a nice way of putting it "thick") HA!!

Payton Elizabeth. 2 weeks and 3 months. Im so blessed to be this little girls momma.

My child...

Is that child. Its true she is. You know, the one that when you drop 'em off in the nursery she cries the whole time. Not that thats a bad thing. She is with me all day, every day so when I just up and leave her... she is a bit confused and upset about it. BUT... I, having done childcare since I was old enough to walk, always judged that child and that child's mother. They would drop their kid off and say "Now I've never really left her with anyone she does not know, so she may cry" I spoke those words.. and there she went.

My heart felt bad for the mostly not nice thoughts I had for that mother. I told Nat I wish I could go back and apologize to all those moms who I thought were ridiculous (please note that I NO LONGER think this) for never having left there child and for wanting to get a phone call if there baby did not stop crying. That was me. I left my baby, she cried and wanted me, my heart cried with her and I wanted a phone call if she did not stop! I have learned soooo much more about children having my own, and having a mommas heart and not just a childcare providers heart. Make sense??? But... I guess you live and learn right??

Anyways... now that I have made my confession of the day. Lets get on to some less important things. Like how Mondays are no fun a) cuz Nat goes back to work. b) everything from the weekend is starring you right in the face. c) meaning you have loads of laundry... dishes, and cleaning to do.. and last but not least d) The time has come to pay bills. Thats what I have been doing today. Laundry, dishes, straightening up the house, paying bills and also I got our Christmas cards all addressed and ready to be stamped and sent away. Its been a fulfilling day.

Which brings me to my next subject. The other day, we went over to my parents house for dinner and we had s'mores for dessert. Madelynn found the marshmallow bag and made herself right at home eating her marshmallows right by the fire.

Have you ever thought of the word marshmallow??? How weird of a word is that??? It got me to wondering about what the heck the meaning was behind that word.. or even if there was a meaning. This is it!! Rather intresting. OK.. Im retarded and I might just have a little to much time on my hands at this given moment. I should be sleeping while my children do, rather I am looking up stuff about marshmallows.... and in case your like me and you could keep asking why, why, why until your 100% satisfied and feel like you know enough about that subject.. this is what a marshmallow plant looks like.

Don't you feel smarter???

sNoW

It happened. It actually snowed! We were layin in bed this mornin and I heard Nats work phone ring and I knew that it had snowed, so I got up and looked out the window, and there was a beautiful white blanket of snow covering everything. It was an awesome thing to wake up to!

It was Maggies first snow. She came to a screeching halt at the end of the carport and looked around and then took off and from there, the white blanket was history. Mitsy hates anything that has to do with the outside world so she went under the blazer where there was no snow to do her business. After a few minutes she joined maggie for a minute and she was done.

Had to stick a picture of Paytons first snow day in there. She didn't go outside with Madelynn and I. She was smart and stayed in the warm house, sleeping of course. :)

and this little turkey....

once she fell and felt how cold this crazy white stuff was...

she was done. Happy first snow day Madelynn. :)

She did enjoy walking in it if she could hold my hand. I think that she liked the crunch sound. Oh... and she LOVED to eat it. I did not show her that snow is edible. Promise, I didn't.
It was very short lived and I was quickly thankful that I lived in West Texas and that this was a rare occasion. I'll take it once a year and that'll be just fine!

Second blood...

and who thought it would be so soon... and so much worse. She did the same thing but this time, busted the top lip and it is worse than the bottom one! Poor thing. Her lip was/ is so swollen. She didnt eat her dinner last night and didnt eat much breakfast this morning so I know it is bothering her. Also coming along with these dang busted lips... are busted foreheads. If its not the lip, its been the forehead so her little forehead has bruises al over it. Is this normal for her.. like is it a stage in walking???? Should I be concerned about how many times she has hit her head in the past few days?? Seriously, answers are very welcome!!!

see how her lip is swollen

you can click on them to make them bigger and you can see it a little better. Oh... and guess what?? On Saturday, were supposed to have pictures done with Nats family. :) Hopefully the brusing and swelling will go down a little before that. Im tellin ya... this kid, she KNOWS when pictures are comin up. Oh well... makes for good memories.

anyways... after that fiasco, we went to Wal Mart to get her some socks with the gripper things on the bottom. Hoping that will help her not to slip. Madelynn had her first taste of walking freedom in the big store. She was in la-la land and thought she was all that. It was so fun. Guess where she ended up?? in the SHOE AISLE!! YEA!! Thats my girl. Her daddy quickly found her and directed her in the other direction. I was proud.

P.S. While checking out her upper lip after she fell, I did see another tooth coming in! Woo Hoo! 5 teeth. Were gettin somewhere in the teeth department.

First blood

My poor sweet little Madelynn has officially had her first blood... (yes, I am blogging about this) and it was just about the saddest way possible. She had just had her bath and we were reading books right before bed. I was sitting on her bed feeding Payton and she took off outta her room, went to the living room and got Brown bear Brown bear (her most favorite book) and was coming back through the hall and busted... hard!! She started crying. She ended up busting her lip on the inside pretty bad and the book busted the outside of her lip. It was so sad. She was bein so sweet tryin to bring me her favorite book and the dadgum floor got in the way. Poor baby.

This morning I (and everyone else here in SA) woke up to some cold weather and rain! So I was feeling rather Cristmas-y and warm and cozy so I dressed the girls in some Christmas clothes.... ahh the silly things we (or atleast I) stay at home moms do.
