Success

So our first night sleeping in the big girl bed was a success. No fallin off the bed. Went right to sleep (after she layed there a few minutes singing to herself.) and best of all, SHE SLEPT ALL NIGHT LONG!!! YEA!! Thats exciting. She does so good. She knows that her toys are just a slide off the bed, she knows she can go open the dresser drawer and pull all of the clothes out... but she just stays on her bed like a good girl. Now I know that its only the first night and bad things could happen.... but Im gonna hope that she keeps doin just like this! She stayed in her bed till I came and got her, just like she would in her crib. She is such a good girl. I hope that this continues to be the better for her!

She is quiet the crazy sleeper so I was a little nervous about her falling off the bed.

This is how she fell asleep

In case you haven't heard.. on Tuesdays, at the Chick Fil A in the mall, its family night. For every Combo meal you buy, you get a free kids meal and then when your done, you get an ice cream and they have toppings out for you to put on your ice cream. Its really neat. Anyways, we went and did that last night and had lots of fun... the one time I didnt have my camera... I wanted it so bad. Madelynn was hilarious eating her ice cream. Then we went to this store and played with the hermit crabs another picture moment. Anyways... we had lots of fun. Madelynn got to wear some of her new clothes yesterday cuz it was pretty cool outside... lemme tell ya, I was kinda sad about having to put pants on her and covering up those chubby legs that I love to look at and squeeze... but those litle jeans on her are pretty darn cute if I might say so myself.

This is about the best we could get... do you see those shoes??? (There Converse in case you cant tell) That was most definitely a splurge... but we saw them and tried em on her and couldnt leave them at the store. Sooooo cute!!

Ok.. I know Im babbling a little but... Madelynn, as we all know, doesn't care to walk... so she has gotten to where she uses her Mater truck as a walker... ya know.. like an old lady who has to get around WITH a walker. When they first start its fun and cute to walk across the living room and back and forth but she has gotten to where she uses it to actually get around to walk to get a book, to walk to go in the kitchen to play with her magnets on the fridge. Walk to her bedroom to play with toys. Across the living room to be closer to me.... HELLO???? Lose the mater and you got it! She has gotten pretty fast at it to... Does she not get the clue?? Its kinda funny.

(please excuse the dang pacifier in all the pictures... Im trying to not let her have it so much.. but when little sister always has one that she can (and does) take... its pretty much impossible for her not to have one)

Payton is getting to where she is awake alot more and kinda got her own little schedule down. So she is getting more fun! Madelynn still adores her. She tried and tried to give her some of her chicken nuggets last night. It was so sweet, she just doesnt understand so its hard and she gets frustrated... soon enough she'll be able to feed her. We (tried) to do some tummy time yesterday, which she absolutely hates. As you can see, it was unsuccessful.
she slid her little way right off the little boppy and fell asleep.

she is getting soooo big!

Call me crazy....

.. but my little baby girl is sleeping in a big girl bed. Remember I had talked about awile back that we had got her a bed back in February and finally got it set up a few weeks ago??? We have had a heck of a time with this girl sleeping at night. So Im willing to try it to see if it will help her sleep. We'll see. I just layed her down and told her it was night night time and gave her her 2 pacis and I peeked through a little crack in her door and watched her fall asleep and she has been in there since. I hope that it works... not only for my sake (its kinda like having 2 newborns) but for hers... the poor girl is always so stinkin tired cuz her sleep is so restless. I dont know.. I would think that sleeping in a big ol cozy bed is more comforting than being locked in and having to look at those slats. Her legs and arms also have gotten stuck a few times before in the middle of the night and she wakes up crying... that cant be no fun.

We skipped the toddler bed and just went out and spent that money on a twin bed that she will be able to have for forever
what a big girl!

Man.. how bout this weather??? If it would only stay like this forever!! I love it. Had to dress the girls in pants and socks this morning cuz it was even a little chilly in our house. I got my fall stuff out and the fall candle burning... if only my children would allow me to crawl in my bed and pull the covers up and take a nice 3 hour nap... doesnt that sound great??? I can dream cant I?? :)

Issues

Well... this morning I have been busy. Busy cleaning out clothes and forcing myself to get rid of stuff. We went shopping yesterday to get Madelynn some warmer clothes since the weather is obviously changing (for the better.) We got her a good bit of stuff (hurray for Old Navy baby sale!!!!) She had absolutely nothin for this winter. Its so easy to spend money. We were in there for 15 minutes and were done just like that. Anyways... so I have slowly over the past few days getting Paytons warmer clothes out to and putting clothes away.... and thats where I have such a hard time. I am having to force myself to get rid of these clothes that Payton has already outgrown. Its gone through 2 babies now and is still in good shape but am I really gonna wanna see all of it again? Im gonna have to say not.. but then Im like well, what if have another girl the same time of year (I will do everything in my power to NOT have to be pregnant in the summer again... unless God has other plans) and we end up not having the extra money to get her clothes she needs.. and I go back and forth. So I put the stack of newborn clothes in the bag and there going bye bye! Anyone know anyone having a girl anytime soon??? I have tons of clothes that are in good condition!! If not, I think that Im gonna see about sellin them. I also have a crib set that I'd like to get rid of. Im sure that yall have seen it in pictures.

(thats Madelynn btw)

Its still in good condition to. Nat wants to save it.. but Im thinkin the same thing as with the clothes... am I really gonna wanna see it again?? We've loved it and am so very thankful that we are getting to use all of Madelynns stuff over again.

Anyways... so the moral of the story is, I have a hard time getting rid of the girls stuff!!! I can get rid of anything else... but its just not as easy with there stuff. I guess if thats my only issue in life, Im sittin pretty good. :)

Hair and Madelynn

So poor Payton came out with some funky hair... I like to call her Frank... cuz her hair reminds me of Frank Barrone (sp??) from Everybody Loves Raymond. Nothin on the top and some on the back and sides that is always stickin out funky. Its... funny and sad all at the same time. I hope that the hair on top decides to grow in soon. I wonder what happened when she was cookin to make her hair like that??? Soon enough she will probably lose all of her hair and start all over.

You can kinda see what I am talkin bout here

The long hair you see on top is just hair from the back sticking up to the front

Madelynn on the other hand has a head full of beautiful curly blonde hair. I love it. As if she couldnt get any cuter, God decided to throw some cute little curls on her.

and her hair hair does get a little funky to. This is what it looks like when she wakes up
I wanted to write some stuff about Madelynn so this will mostly be about her... (so dont think Im playing favorites) :) Her progress right now is amazing to me and I wanna remember it.

Lets see... Not walking.
-Loves her mater truck to death. Can push herself backwards but not forward yet. She walks him around the house all day long.
-Is completely addicted to her pacifier.. but when you ask her for her paci she is more than willing to give it to you.
-She shares everything. Loves to share her food... which can be rather disgusting.
-Understands pretty much anything you say to her.
- Says Night night. NaNa. nay nay (Naomi). mama. dada. and I think I heard her muster up a bye bye today... we'll see
-When you ask her to say dog, she barks. When you ask her to say bye bye or hi, she waves in one of her many different ways.. depends on her mood. When you ask her what a goldfish says, she does fish lips (that I just wanna kiss right off her face)
-knows who people are and gets excited when you say there names.
-Only has 2 bottom teeth with the top 2 barely barely poking through.
-Regardless of only having 2 teeth, she takes bites of stuff and can eat some things whole
-Knows and loves Payton.
-Points to ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to communicate... can be frustrating at times cuz she gets mad when you dont know what she is wanting.
-Loves the dogs and kisses them. Loves to feed them her food which she finds quiet hysterical. Tries to share her paci with them and wonders why they wont take it from her
-Takes 2 naps a day
-Knows to turn around and slide off the couch.. or mom and dads bed (which is a little to high for her and is more of a disaster)
-Fake laughs when someone is laughing. Fake coughs when someone coughs
-knows to smile for the camera (only when she feels like it though)
-Her most favorite book is brown bear brown bear and she wants to read it over and over and over with the biggest smile on her face
-Loves to play with her alphabet fridge thing and can put the letters in the thing to make it sing
-When you tell her Shhhh, she thinks its funny to get louder and louder.
-Laughs with such joy when you say the word paci.
-Loves to play with dog food even though she knows better
-Is obsessed with putting things inside things
-Loves to read books
-Her 2 favorite things (if you havent figured it out yet.... besides me of course) (HA!! I come second in line behind her daddy) is her paci and her mater... she likes to put her paci on her mater and push it around the house... im tellin ya.. she LOVES that thing.
-Shakes her head yes and no... most of the time its appropriate, meaning she knows what she is answering, and sometimes she does it just t be silly
-Loves to go in a room and shut the door but gets scared once she figures out she is stuck.
-The new bed that we bought her has 3 drawers on it and I put her toys in one of them. She will go in her room and open the drawer herself and play for hours.
-Loves to open drawers and after a finger mashings, she will now push it from the front rather than with her hand over the drawer to where it mashes it when you push it in (if that makes sense)
-Is the sweetest, cutest, most patient, easy going (almost) 14 month old I know.

This is a new thing she discovered today... getting up in the fridge

Ok ok... I'll say a little more about the little sister. Not much progress in her area.
-She loves to spit up... especially after bath.
-Hates to be dirty
-loves to swing..
ok just kiddin I wont go on about how boring newborns are. She still just sleeps all the time.
But she will be a month in a few days and I cant believe that! I thought Madelynns life has gone by so fast but Im pretty sure the second one is going by 50 times faster. That makes me sad. But I am enjoying every second God gives me with these 2 little girls!!

Im back!!

Yea!! Ya'll may not be as excited about it... but you will be hearing from me alot more now!! We
finally got internet at our house so I can blog whenever I want to. I am thrilled. I had blogging withdraws then eventually got over it so I have to get back in the hang of things.

Lets see.. where to start. Things are goin great around here! The first 2 weeks were the hardest and I wasn't sure that I was gonna make it through... but I did! Thanks to the help of my mom and mom-in-law. Yall's help was amazing!! And of course Nat... he was Mr. Mom every day when he got home from work. This week has been so much fun for me! Just soakin this life in and enjoying my 2 kids. I know... sounds cheesy, but its the truth. Payton is still as good as ever. She only cries when she has a dirty diaper or wants to eat... and to top that off, she only wakes up one time in the middle of the night... cant beat that in a 3 week old. Her (and mine... but who cares about the momma) :) 2 week check up was good. She weighed 8lb 3 oz which is exactly 1 lb from how much she weighed when we left the hospital. There is no doubt that she is a good eater!!

Madelynn... oh my dear sweet First born child... still not walking or caring about walking... I thought for 2 seconds we were goin somewhere with it but I was wrong... and lemme tell ya, going out without a daddy to help is not easy but I have managed to be able to carry a car seat, a 13 month old who lets you hold ALL of her weight and a diaper bag the size of Texas that weighs 200 pounds... Anyways... she is absolutely 100% in love with her little sister. Every time she cries Madelynn crawls as fast as she possibly can over to her to try and help her or give her her paci its soooo sweet! She gives her kisses every chance she gets.. ever so often she gets a little rough and pokes eyeballs and pulls hair and sticks her finger down her throat, but I think that that is more curiosity than being mean. We have not had any jealousy issues with her. Its been wonderful.

she likes to go for the more serious look...

I had some kind of stomach bug on Sunday so I was stuck on the couch all day feeling like crap. Started feeling better that evening so yesterday, I went with my mom and sisters to Midland for Micaelas volleyball game (with my bottle of pepto in hand.) It was fun. Madelynn was pretty much the star of the show when Micaela and her friends were done playing their game. It was quiet funny. They all wanted to hold her and every one of them kept telling me how cute she was and how I had such a sweet daughter. Anyways... It may have been a little to soon after having the bug to go outta town and eat foods you shouldnt eat when your stomach is upset cuz this morning I woke up feeling that way again.. so i'm not feelin to great today. But its definitely not as bad as it was Sunday.
Here are some pictures of Madelynn with all those girls. It was so funny.

Madelynn took off and they all crawled along with her

Her most favorite person on the face of the earth. Aunt Kay

And here is just some of life...

This is Madelynns way of giving kisses. She does this any time she can reach Payton. Soooo sweet!

goin on our first walk together!

I dont know why this is showing up sideways but I love this picture!!

First bath together.

my 2 little duckies. :)

Anyways.. hope that gives you some update on our life. We did manage to get some pictures done... a one year old session and a newborn session all in one day. :) They are absolutely beautiful and i cant wait to share them with you!

Hello World

ok... I just typed a nice long post for you and in the midst of an absent brain, I accidentally erased all of it. So I will go over the very basics cuz I do not feel like doing it again.

We have all been sick around here. Madelynn has had it the worse with running fever, ear ache, cough cough coughin, and just plain misurable. Nat has pretty much had the same thing, just not as bad. So its been a clorox wipin, pacifier boilin, hand washin fun time at our house. In the midst of all that, Payton has managed to catch a little somethin. She is coughing a little and got a little stuffy nose, thankfully nothin more than that... and were hopin it stays that way. I am very slooooooooowwwwwwlllllyyyyyy recovering from this c-section. Its been a little difficult to say the least. Anyways... enough about the bad stuff.

Payton is a VERY good baby! I may venture to say that she may be better than Madelynn was and if you know how good Madelynn was (and still is) you know that I am VERY spoiled!! I admit it. I guess they will just be perfect little angels like there sweet mother. :) I can deal with that

Madelynn has taken very well to having Payton around. She has had a few "oh my gosh... thats sooo not like her" moments but for the most part its been very good!! She loves to give her kisses... that are more like head buts... but its oh so sweet. She will just randomly walk (crawl) up to Payton while she is in the swing, or on the couch and give her sweet kisses. She loves to touch her and for the most part is pretty gentle with her. She has to be reminded at times to be sweet. She has turned into a mature little girl this week... not sure if its having Payton around or if its just that time in her life. She is just a smart little girl and we have enjoyed watching her learn new things and do new things. Every day that Nat comes home from work, I have something big to tell him about what she did new that day. Pretty exciting!! Were getting sooooo close to walking! I know it!

It has been hard adjusting to life with 2 kids and I definitely still dont have it down at all but were gettin there... slowly. Anyways... here are a few pictures for ya...

Look at all that hair!! I never thought this kid would get hair... she even has enough to do little piggy tails. I have pictures to show you... just not with me.

Oh let the matching begin. The joys of having 2 girls. :)

pink pink pink.

After you see this precious little baby please notice my $35 flowers and plant in the background that my husband dearly surprised me with... and I was later surprised when I looked at the bank and saw how much he spent. It was very sweet of him! He got me 2 roses for the 2 beautiful children I gave him... isnt that sweet??? He's gettin better at this sweet stuff. :)

Payton meeting Granny great for the first time.

First bath at home

Oh those huge green pacifiers... I had every intetntion of Payton using a different paci to avoid confusion... she had other intentions

Sweet sweet sweet

Daddy and his princess and his little princess. (we solved the "princess" problem...)

Oh, and I must say a Happy Anniversary to the love of my life. We celebrated 2 years on the 24. Two years and two kids... beat that!! HA!! Ya... most people probably wouldn't want things to be that way.

The Rose babies

**There is a new post below this one.

I stole this from when I did it when Payton was born... except I added Mr. Stetson to the mix.
They each have their own little look about them. But there are some pictures I look at and think Stetson and Madelynn look alot alike... and then others I look at and I see Stetson looking like Payton. Guess that means they all 3 got a little bit of each of us. Can't go wrong there. I look at Madelynn and Payton now and they look nothing alike to me... so we'll see about Stetson in a couple of months.

Payton... I think she won as far first poop. :)

I was so sad that Nat was gonna miss the traditional "first poop diaper" since Stetson wasn't in our room with us... but the little man gave his daddy his glory when we went to visit him that first night. He also peed on him in the process.

I won't tell you that every single time that I have changed that boys diaper, I have also been peed on. Anyone have any advice on changing boys??? It is a lot different than changing a girl that is for sure!!

The Dawn

I sent my 13 year old to 7th grade, my 12 year old to 5th grade, my 11 year old to 4th grade, and my 4 year old to pre-k4. After 13 years o...
