Weston- 3 months

Our little man hit the 3 month mark and he's oh so much fun! We've been able to enjoy Weston to the fullest! I know I've said it before, but #4 has been so different. Life's a little sweeter the older you get, and even more sweeter knowing that he's the last one.

3 months
14.5 lbs.
At 3 months-
-He has NO, none, zero ounce of normalcy! I am so ready to kinda have a schedule down with him  nap this time, eat this amount of time every this many hours. He is so sporadic still. One thing that we are kinda getting in the groove of is a bed time. It has been from 8:30-9:30 the past few nights and I am definitely enjoying that! So, being my first breast fed baby, I wonder if that has a play in it.

-He is the "5 minute napper". Lord-y the temperature, sound level, lighting, cushiness of sleeping location, position of the head, fullness of the belly, diaper status, and smell of mom all has to be aligned for this child to take a decent nap. So in other words, he's the 5 minute napper....

-most nights are okay, his first long stretch being about 5 hrs (and if I was smart, id go to bed and enjoy this..... but I don't) and then is up every 2-3 hours.... and if he's going through a growth spurt. I just shouldn't even go to bed. ;)

- He's a talkin' little man! I love to sit and talk with him and just watch him.

-Drools like crazy

- Is starting to reach for stuff and bring it straight to the mouth.

-I don't feel that his eye has improved any since the little it did at the beginning. (anxiously awaiting our next appointment for that)

- I've noticed as he gets older that when his eye is not taped, unless you get his attention, he has no desire to look around, and mostly just looks down. But really "opens up" once both eyes are opened.

-He absolutely adores his siblings.

-His face brightens the second he hears daddy say "Hey boy"

- Mom is less "business" and I think maybe he likes me now. Ha!

-startles and gets upset very easily.

We only love him just a teeny tiny bit.

Love that squinty eye smile. ;)

He spends a lot of time in the bumbo, in the kitchen with me. I loooove havin him to look at as I spend so much time in the kitchen!

oh that face, melts me into a million pieces.

breakfast with big sis!

I call this look The Weston. He will have forehead wrinkles before we know it.  definitely workin' hard to try and get that eye open.

Stetson- 6

My "original" baby turned SIX a few weeks ago. My, what a charming little boy he is. He is overly excited about getting older. It has been neat to see him grow and become a young man. He truly is the sweetest boy, and for that I am ever so grateful. I owe a lot of credit to my better half. He is doing a fantastic job raising a future man and teaching him all about "man stuff" I have the job of smothering him with love and making sure he knows he's still and will always be my teeny tiny 5 lb 11 oz baby boy. ;)

Stetson is the perfect combination of tough, sweet, and kind. He is really into Karate and fighting; so Nat has been teaching him all about that. (NO, we're not raising a violent, out of control maniac. There are lots of rules and regulations for this subject of life. ;)

He's a total package I tell ya, I always say he'll be the best husband one day. Not only is he tough, but he's a sweetheart. He always puts others before himself. He always holds the door open for people. Naturally, when in public I always make sure to be behind my children as we move about, so I found myself stopping and waiting for him to go through before me, but he wont. So I had to reprogram a tad; I definitely had a brain-sob fest the day I let that go and realized he's growing up and I need to let him do his thang and hold the door open for his mama.
side note- he's become quite the swimmer this year... oh how good it is to have confident swimmers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He loves being a big brother! Never has there ever been any sort of jealousy from this guy about having his "spot" stolen. I'm so glad that Weston has him to look up to!

Madelynn, our little gift-giver worked hard to save up some money to buy this guy an Emoji pillow.

Stetson's love language is STUFFED ANIMALS. so it truly was the best gift he's ever gotten. These 2 don't always mesh, but its sweet to see the love they have for each other.

We had a sweet family day for him, and of course bowling was involved. ;)

We got him a kayak 'cuz WHAT WERE WE THINKING ONLY BUYING ONE?!?!?!

He's gotten very good at it. I underestimated him a tad.

Oh my big boy. What a joy it is to see you grow. Happy 6th Birthday.

Madelynn- 8

Our first born girl turned 8 years old! Is that crazy or what?!?
I have an 8 year old.
I remember a time when I thought people who had 8 year olds were......... old.
Apparently that's not so, cuz I'm not old.

Madelynn is a sweet little thing, she loves and cares for others deeply. I think God has given her the gift of compassion. I cant wait to see where the Lord takes her. Back in February, after a few weeks of back and forth questions from her, she accepted Christ has her savior. It was a neat, special time for our family.

She wrapped up second grade and is excited to be a 3rd grader. She is a smart, smart girl. She makes teaching her easy.

She's VERY strong willed. A lot of days, her and I but heads....
a lot of days I. cannot. handle. her. and I mean that with all sorts of LOVE!!
I know that one day she will be BIG.

For her birthday we went bowling!!

She got a kayak! We have pretty much lived in our backyard/in the water this summer so this was only fitting! She has LOVED kayaking!

Shes growing into a lovely young lady! Happy 8th Birthday my Madelynn.

Weston- 2 months

Its 9:30am and all 4 of my kids are sleeping! Just thought I'd put that out there to remember for eternity. Westons only been here 2 months, but in some ways it feels like forever. Like forever in the way that forever ago when you could sneak away from your occupied, big enough children for a few seconds of time to re-group... yea... somehow that little darling boy always manages to find me. Or how you used to sleep many, many hours during the night, and  now suddenly, you don't.

But that's 100% ok. I kind of am obsessed with him. The older I get, the more I am realizing how precious life is, and I am remembering how quickly this little thing will soon be a big thing and how Ill yearn to hold a newborn babe again. I've had many a moments where I'll just stop, and remind myself of this and enjoy the moment, no matter how awful it may seem at the time.

Weston at 2 months.
13 lb. 6 oz.
23.5 in long.

Weston came out of the womb a really great sleeper. I just knew that soon, he would sleep through the night and I, for once, would have a good sleeping baby.
I was wrong.
We just needed to enjoy a month of that and then I was kindly reminded what its like to have a not-good sleeping baby... and I've been reminded every night since then... and nap time too. He doesn't like those too terribly much. But, I love him anyways. The night times are so much more bearable with breastfeeding, I don't have to get up and make a bottle and sit up and feed him, just gotta pull him to me and together we lay there and drift back off to sleep. I really do love that part of it! Besides, who doesn't wanna wake up to this perfect little squishy faced boy.

Two months starts the fun stuff! We've loved the little smiles and coos and now the laughs. He is such a happy, joyful baby.

mamas first smile.
He smiled at daddy looooong before he gave me anything.

We went on our first overnight trip with little man. Oh boy did I forget how much stuff you have to pack for a baby. We went to Lake Buchanan with Nat's family. We had a great time of just hanging out.

This is how we roll now-a-days.

Weston had his first swim and he looooved it!

We celebrated the 4th if July in style.

There is NO shortage of love for this little boy. He has so much fun with his big bro and sisters. I am so thankful he has them!

He may be getting a little spoiled to being held.
What a special little boy we've been given.

The Dawn

I sent my 13 year old to 7th grade, my 12 year old to 5th grade, my 11 year old to 4th grade, and my 4 year old to pre-k4. After 13 years o...
