cookies with the cousins

I s'pose the title says it all... I had this crazy idea to get all the cousins together and decorate cookies!!! Payton and Jedd. Oh, one is a lost soul to not know these 2. They are sweet, special, angelic little middle children. They are so much alike... they were born middle children for a reason. ;) I say all this to tell you this type thing was right up their alley!

They had SO much fun decorating cookies!! Definitely something we will start a tradition doing.

catchup

We have been super duper busy!! Feels like we are only here to sleep!!! But, I would be lying if I said I didn't love it... I am a go-er. I love to be busy and doing things. It is just a season though. Nat has a trainee at work, therefore I do not "have him" to help with life, unless he is on days off.
Well, Sometimes I do, but I try not to count on him too much during this time of training.

-The busyness quickly came to a halt when Stetson and I was bombarded with the stomach bug. We all know that is an exciting thing.....
Not.
Stetson had it all night one night, and part of the next day... that whole night when he and I only slept about 2 hours between the vommiting, I had some serious stomach pains and prayed that this would NOT happen to me. Sure enough, the next morning I started at it and had the worst day of my life!! seriously, give me ANYTHING but the stomach bug.... Anything!!!
Madelynn threw up that night and I don't know if it was coincidental or if she just had a tiny version of what Stetson and I had, but that was all she did, and she was fine!!

-Kinsey and I had been planning a surprise party for my dad's 50th bday... so I've been running around ALL week long to prepare for that. Her whole family got the stomach bug the day before we did and I just hoped that we would all be well enough to pull this party off!!! On Friday we were finally able to get together and do all the finishing touches and we had a GREAT party for my dad!!

-The girls started ballet a couple weeks ago.... Madelynn came to a point where she did ballet
ALL. DAY. LONG...
She would ask everyone to watch her and she would dance and twirl and point her toes. Honestly, I have no clue where she got this ballet business from.. but it was nonstop.... I HAD to do something for the girl to satisfy her ballet needs. The first week I had just signed Madelynn up, and Payton sat there staring in the door, wanting to go in and dance, so needless to say, Payton joined the next week.

...and the next week  was when I was sick... not able to take them so I have no pics on my camera.. and It takes entirely too much time to put phone pics on my computer.... one day I will tho. Just know her teeny tiny little skinny self was A-DOR-A-BLE in that little leotard "with no skiwt" per the slight tom boy herself. ;)

-My Birthday was on Sunday and we just had a chill day, with a nice dinner that night. Madelynn was upset that her daddy and I went out for my birthday without them, so the next day I let them take me out for my birthday... guess where we went??
The park!
It was great birthday time with my bebes.
I got to go shopping today and got a few outfits for my birthday...
and guess what else I just ordered??

Well, lemme back up. Our anniversary was back in August... and the fact that the date was August 24th (the day we were wed) slipped Nats mind until I kindly reminded him of the date and he felt kinda bad... To say that I haven't teased him every day since would be a lie. ;) So I bugged him for months and months about what I needed really really wanted for our anniversary....
I mean, it only seems fitting that for your 5 year anniversary you get a
brand new, NICE set of pots and pans.
I know, every girls dream, right? I've always had the chaepy stuff so I am thrilled about this!!!

and because I know you forgot what my kids look like, heres a few pics on my camera roll....
Enjoy
every single day of my life, I have a moment of shock that my little baby is now 4...
 FOUR!!!
Its so insane to me... Totally don't feel like I should be "here" in life. I guess I don't feel old enough to have a 4 year old.
HA!... is that the dumbest thing you've ever heard or what?!? Like I'm not getting older as she does.
I don't know... I think I just always imagined myself having babies... but NEVER thought about having a non baby. A child. A child who goes to school. A child who does ballet. A child who can write her name. A child who has an opinion about everything. Every night before bed, when I'm laying out her clothes, I've learned to just get it out of the way and ask her what shoes she wants to wear to school the next day... and every day its a different pair. She is my child and is obsessed with shoes, and when you wear the same 3 uniforms every day, she has learned to accessorize with the shoes (and socks)

I love her.

Finally got an updated  cousins picture.

This girl. is she not THE cutest thing you ever saw?? I kinda like her too. ;)
We have ran into a few times where she has had to be away from mama... ( and as you may remember, I am that mom... the overprotective, hurts-to-leave-her-children, therefore-does-not mom) With Madelynn, her and I can handle this sort of thing. She is bold, outspoken, loud, and fends for her herself... Payton, on the other hand is shy, uncertain, introvert, careful and cautious... making me feel slightly more protective of her. Nat and I had a chat about this sorta thing and he made me ralize that this only hinders her.. and so now I'm working super duper hard to be firm, bold and loving when leaving her... and she's done great!! She is always hesitant to be away, but always comes back loving her time away.
*Sighhh*
being a mom can be so complicated.

the best auntie Liz EVER with her nieces and nephews!!
My little dude. I walked in and found him napping like this the other day... and this is typical Stetson.
and I adore him.

The Dawn

I sent my 13 year old to 7th grade, my 12 year old to 5th grade, my 11 year old to 4th grade, and my 4 year old to pre-k4. After 13 years o...
