Life

Where should I even begin almost a year later?!? We wrapped up our first year of homeschooling and have thoroughly enjoyed summer. Summer is just a little sweeter when you have the responsibility of teacher. I woke up one day and decided we were gonna be done for the summer and never looked back. I left myself with a ton to do as all our books and papers are still just sitting there, waiting to be sifted through. As we are in August, I suppose I should get on the ball.

At the beginning of the year (after 2 years of living in town), we had the itch to get out of the city, so we kind started looking for a place off and on. We were in a totally different place from when we first bought our house in 2013 so we prayed about it, and decided we would put our house on the market after we found a perfect place that we fell in love.

Our house sold rather quickly, and about the same time our house sold, the Lord closed the door on our plans to buy the other property. For some reason, although it was extremely disappointing to us, Nat and I had a peace about it. We knew this was Gods plan for us and thats exactly where we wanted to be! Our first home that Nat bought when we were first married was currently being used for our storage, but we knew if we wanted to go through with the sell of our house in town, our only option was to move back out to Mertzon into our tiny little first house. Lots and lots and LOTS (I'm pretty sure this was the hardest/craziest/most time consuming move we've ever had… and we've had a lot) of work and many hours later, we closed on our house and moved our little fam back out to Mertzon where we first began.

Why on earth is it so hard to leave these places?!? Every time we move its harder and harder. I keep telling myself I have the memories, and the people whom they were made with… its just a house, but for some reason I attach myself to my homes. I suppose its because I commit my whole entire self to my home, and raising my kids in it.
*sigh*
Anywho, this was 6 months ago… I promise I'm over it. ;)

In those 6 months we: bought a new (to us) car!

Easter

Spent many hours in Lowes… 'cuz thats what you do when you move, right??

The kids played their first year of T-ball.
That was fun, and adorable!

took a trip to KY to visit my dearest friend and her family.

A couple of months ago, due to the oilfield shutting down, Nat was laid off from his job of 5 years. To say it was a blow would be an understatement. When you're whole life is so intertwined with your career, and suddenly that is stripped away, its painful.
It stings a little.

Two months later and quite honestly we still have those days. We trust that God has a bigger plan for us. We are waiting, and praying, and ready for whats next. Currently Nat is remodeling his parents house as we are waiting around and hopeful that his job will pick back up.
Pray for us if you think about it!
I believe we're right where we need to be. Although we would take the job back in a heartbeat, its been a welcomed change. We've had some serious family time! Like, we're always together… this will not be a good thing when he actually has to leave the house to go to work everyday. ;) We're enjoying this down time in life and thanking God that he lead us here, and has taken such good care of us along the way.

7

I've looked back at my blog several times in the past few weeks to remember things…. so I decided I really needed to update life a little more for my own sake!

Soon I can update on our life, but first…

We are officially in the craziest time of year for the Rose household. Birthdays, birthdays and more birthdays!
Nat turned 28.
(more on that later)

and our oldest dear daughter turned 7!
As I've read back over previous birthday posts, Its neat to see the kids really are all the same as they always have been. She's still the headstrong firstborn; stubborn but sweet, crazy but grounded, silly but serious.
If you follow me on Instagram, I described her as sugar and spice… and that about sums her up.

She's been a joy to have around as she gets older. Its neat how the dynamic of our relationship changes as she gets older and needs me less and less. Don't get me wrong, theres still the parent/child part of it… but its like she's a responsible little adult who is fun to hang out with

She's such a smart girl and she is ready to take on the second grade.
(let me repeat that… second grade. AHHH)

She has lost zero teeth! Poor thing is dying to lose a tooth. It seems every day I am seeing kids so much younger loosing their teeth. Its craziness! Poor girl, I check her teeth every few days to see if anything is moving and she automatically tells me they're not gonna be loose. She has given up all hope on loosing any teeth.

For her birthday she picked a family day of hanging out on the creek swimming and fishing, and then bowling and pizza.

Even Aussie got in on the fun. ;)

We are so blessed to have this girl as our own. She challenges us everyday and we are certain that she will do big things with her life.
Love you, Mads!
