Sorry for the lack of blogging, posts might be few and far between for the next couple weeks. We got alot done yesterday and when Madelynn wakes up, I am gonna go finish up her room.
We didnt do much for the 4th.. not very festive people I guess. Nat sent me away to have some mommy time which was wonderful. I went and got my hair cut and enjoyed the heck out of it. There is nothin like having someone else wash your hair and then cut it and then style it for you! I think I need to check into a personal stylist??? :) I went and did a LITTLE shopping for Madelynn's birthday party and then made my way over to Tyler and Kinsey to visit with them and hold little Jedd boy. Nat had kinda hinted that he would like to come visit too so him and Madelynn headed to town in the un-airconditioned blazer in the 103 degree heat... I know thats cruel and no its not something that we do very often cuz its to hot for Madelynn but oh man.. you should have seen that kids face. It was the color red... She has super ultra sensitive white girl skin anyways and she gets red so very easily so it really wasn't as bad as it looked. I do not have pictures from this day cuz when Nat packed the diaper bag he did not get my camera... I informed him that we NEVER walk out the front door without the camera for times like this. :) But... there were diapers and wipes and a sippy cup and she was fully clothed (In blue pants and a pink shirt I might add) so I couldnt complain. He did a great job with her! There are some dads out there that wouldnt take the kid(s) for the day and let mom go out by herself. I am so thankful Nat will. He is a great daddy!
While at Tyler and Kinseys... Everyone was outside except me and Madelynn and Mad was standing at the screen door lookin at everyone and I was sittin on the couch thinkin to myself... I need to go get her in case someone opens the door and they dont see her... Then I thought.. oh they'll see her, no big deal. Next thing I hear is the door open and Kinsey gasping (like an oh my gosh kinda gasp) and I cringed cuz I knew what happened... then I hear Madelynn screaming her head off so I jump up... soooo very mad at myself for not getting up and moving her away from the door in the first place and there she is flat on the concrete step... uhh it was horrible. She cried and cried. It was pretty traumatic. Her head immediately began to turn colors and had little blood spots under her skin. The freaky part about the whole thing was that the spot was going in rather than out if that makes sense... no goose egg but rather and indention. So we just watched her and took her up to Shannon for Sharon to look at her and see if we should take her to the Dr. or not worry bout it. By the time we got there, it had started to bruise up a little and was more flush with her head so she was good. We have had falls off the couch several times and and of course lots of just growin up falls but this was a little more scary.
this is the day after lookin MUCH better than when it first happened.
(isnt she cute???)
Anyways... Today, my mom is here to help pack up a little but she has been snoozin on the couch. But thats ok cuz she brought and made a delicious, wonderful lunch for us! I aint complainin. :)
Madelynn is up so I need to venture into her room.
I thought your hair looked different that night! I knew I should have said something - it's real cute. I can't wait to get mine styled . . . sometime. :) Hope little Madelynn is feeling better and that the bruise is starting to go away. :)
