Second blood...

and who thought it would be so soon... and so much worse. She did the same thing but this time, busted the top lip and it is worse than the bottom one! Poor thing. Her lip was/ is so swollen. She didnt eat her dinner last night and didnt eat much breakfast this morning so I know it is bothering her. Also coming along with these dang busted lips... are busted foreheads. If its not the lip, its been the forehead so her little forehead has bruises al over it. Is this normal for her.. like is it a stage in walking???? Should I be concerned about how many times she has hit her head in the past few days?? Seriously, answers are very welcome!!!

see how her lip is swollen

you can click on them to make them bigger and you can see it a little better. Oh... and guess what?? On Saturday, were supposed to have pictures done with Nats family. :) Hopefully the brusing and swelling will go down a little before that. Im tellin ya... this kid, she KNOWS when pictures are comin up. Oh well... makes for good memories.

anyways... after that fiasco, we went to Wal Mart to get her some socks with the gripper things on the bottom. Hoping that will help her not to slip. Madelynn had her first taste of walking freedom in the big store. She was in la-la land and thought she was all that. It was so fun. Guess where she ended up?? in the SHOE AISLE!! YEA!! Thats my girl. Her daddy quickly found her and directed her in the other direction. I was proud.

P.S. While checking out her upper lip after she fell, I did see another tooth coming in! Woo Hoo! 5 teeth. Were gettin somewhere in the teeth department.

  1. ok Mara....just know that you are a completely normal mom who wants to know how much can a baby's head take. I can tell you that it never gets any easier, every time you will be scared stiff to watch for all those signs of a possible "bad" injury......so keep watchin' you gotta do it every time, nope there's no getting around this, it's part of this thing parenting. And even now as a Gigi, I freak out every time my G-kids bump, scrape and yell! So don't be afraid to check out the boo-boo's and call the grands to ask "how about this...". Your doing the right thing and your doing a great job with those two girls......what a blessing it is to be able to read your blog and be a part of your sweet family....even if it's over 200 miles away!
