Lemme tell you something about my little Paytee bug. She is a temperamental sleeper, has been since the day she was born. She has to have complete silence and dark to sleep. So all of us sharing a room while living here with my parents isn't ideal for her sake. Luckily, she has done great with it with only several "bad" nights since we've lived here. If, god forbid, she is awakened (and it takes breathing to wake her) it takes an eternity of h-e- double hockey sticks to get her back to sleep!!! Has been that way since the day she was born. She wants to be left alone to go to sleep. Don't touch her, don't look at her, definitely don't talk to her. If she wakes up, don't try to rock her, don't even try to hold her and sing her a song. You will surely send her through the roof and her voice levels will go through the roof with her.
So when she dropped them off and told me Payton had not had a nap all day, I got a sneaky little feeling that it was gonna be a heck of a night. Sure enough... she was exhausted beyond exhaustion and she fussed going to sleep, which she NEVER does, and she woke up crying severeal times before I even came to bed!! I finally get in bed, and she awakens. I got her out of her crib and was holding her... and she was actually letting me without throwing an ever lovin fit.... I sang to her and she calmed down. Then, I laid her on Nat's pillow beside me and she drifted off to sleep. This is so un-realistic... and so wonderful and heartwarming at the same time. I got to hold her, and she laid her head down on me and even let me sing to her!! Its so rare, and thats what makes this night blog worthy!!!
